Believe it or not, for those of you who have been wondering where I was all day long, I was at the monastery. What a beautiful place, surrounded by nature you can actually feel that it is a holy place. It is good for the soul.Furthermore they have an organic farm and it is self-sustaining. To stay there it is free. Simply you provide service to others in exchange for spiritual growth, room and board. It is good to know that such havens exist on earth. Here is a quote I would like to share from St. Basil the Great on charity: The bread you do not use is the bread of the hungry. The garment hanging in your wardrobe is the garment of the person who is naked. The shoes you do not wear are the shoes of someone who is barefoot. The money you keep locked away is the money of the poor. The acts of charity you do not perform are the injustices you commit. Food for thought... Think about it!
